Live Dashboard (/dashboard)
The Dashboard is your real-time command center for monitoring today’s activity as it happens. Every metric on this page is calculated since midnight in your configured workspace timezone.
1. Today’s KPI Summary Row
At the top of the dashboard, five live metric cards summarize today’s performance and compare it against yesterday’s totals (vs yesterday):

2. Daily Traffic Chart (Since Midnight)
Directly below the KPI cards, the Daily Traffic area chart plots hourly Human Hits and/or Page Views since midnight.
- Toggle either metric card above the chart to compare human visitors and total pageviews side by side or inspect a single series in isolation.
- Hover over any hour on the chart to inspect exact counts for that hour.
3. Live Activity Stream
The Live Activity Stream displays active visitors on your website over the last 5 minutes, refreshing automatically every 5 seconds.
- Anonymous Pseudonyms: Because VeloStats never stores personal data or raw IP addresses, each daily visitor hash is deterministically mapped to a friendly pseudonym and avatar (e.g., Swift Falcon or Calm Otter) so you can follow a visitor’s journey without compromising their privacy.
- Traffic Verdict Badge: Shows whether the visitor is a verified Human, Unverified (landed recently without interacting yet), or a known crawler/bot (e.g., Google Search, OpenAI GPTBot, Datacenter).
- Session Context: Displays the visitor’s country flag and city/country code, current page path, referrer source, browser, operating system, and relative timestamp (
just now,15s ago). - Pause on Hover: Hovering your cursor anywhere over the Live Activity Stream pauses automatic UI updates so rows don’t jump while you are inspecting a visitor. Moving your cursor away immediately catches up to the latest stream.
4. Interactive Breakdown Cards & Cross-Filtering
At the bottom of the dashboard, four breakdown panels rank today’s traffic across key dimensions:
- Sources: Top referring domains and search/social channels.
- Countries: Geographic distribution of visitors by country.
- Browsers / OS / Devices: Switchable tabs showing client browsers, operating systems, and device form factors (Desktop, Mobile, Tablet).
- Top Pages: Most visited URL paths on your site today.
One-Click Cross-Filtering
Every row in the breakdown cards is interactive:
- Click any row (for example, clicking United States in Countries, or
/pricingin Top Pages) to filter the entire dashboard—including the top KPI cards and the Daily Traffic chart—by that specific segment. - An active filter badge (
Scoring for: ...) appears above the chart. Click the Clear button (or click the selected row again) to remove the filter and return to global totals.
